When Should Mulch be applied?

Mulch or compost/humus should be applied annually in early spring or summer or as needed before planting,  to conserve moisture, feed plants and prevent weed seeds from sprouting.

We can also apply on your garden a pre-emergent weed killer at the time, to make the weeding chore almost non existent.

Mulch should also be applied annually in fall to protect soil from erosion, as it will smother the weeds and retain warmth.

Where Should Mulch be applied?
